Refridz Privacy Policy

Last Updated: July 2026

Refridz helps you track food expiry dates. This policy describes what data the app uses and how it is handled.

Data Storage

Item names, expiry dates, categories, and reminder settings are stored locally on your device. Refridz does not sync this data to a cloud account or require sign-in.

Camera and Scanning

Refridz requests camera access to photograph product labels and read expiry dates. Photos are processed on your device using on-device text recognition. Images are not uploaded to our servers for storage.

Expiry Date Detection

Refridz first tries to detect expiry dates on your device from the recognized text. If that fails, the app may send only the recognized text from the label (not the photo) to a secure processing service operated for Refridz to suggest an expiry date. A random device identifier is included with that request for abuse prevention; it is not your name, email, or Apple/Google account ID.

That text is used solely to return a date suggestion and is not used for advertising.

Push Notifications

Refridz does not send remote push notifications through external servers. Reminders are scheduled locally on your device.

Analytics

Refridz does not use analytics or advertising tracking SDKs.

Accounts

Refridz does not require user accounts or registration.

Third-Party Sharing

Refridz does not sell your personal data. The only external processing described above is the optional expiry-date assistance service when on-device detection is insufficient. We do not share your locally stored item list with third parties for marketing.
